Flaglers Florida East Coast Railway Train “The Havana Special” Crossing Long Key Viaduct Completed Jan 22, 1912/around 1912-1915.
Each frame is handmade by artist Robert Cerkleski using recycled lobster or stone crab traps collected from Key West, Florida. All frames are made with lightweight and durable plexiglass, making them less fragile than traditional glass. On the border of the frame, there is a unique commercial trap tag, always from various years, meaning they are different colors. Due to the handcrafted nature of the frames, no two are exactly alike, and the frame you receive may differ slightly from the one shown in the listing, though it will maintain a similar style and character. The frame includes a photo print (not an original), and the listed size represents the dimensions of the frame itself, with the photo size being approximately 3 inches smaller.
For certain pieces, you'll notice the designation “CANVAS” listed next to the size. This indicates that the photo is printed directly onto canvas, without the use of plexiglass in the frame. As a result, the finished piece has a matte, non-shiny appearance, offering a different aesthetic compared to the standard version with plexiglass.
